#VUHRD faculty, Keith Black, wins Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Award!

The Delaware Valley HR Person of the Year Award is an annual award that recognizes HR leaders who "exemplify outstanding achievement within our local human resources community."

Several organizations work together to make this yearly event happen, including Chester County HRA, Delaware County SHRM, Greater Valley Forge HRA, Philly SHRM, HR Association of Southern New Jersey, and more! There are several categories that are recognized and awarded during this annual ceremony: HR Person of the Year (for small, medium, and large organizations), HR Consultant of the Year, and HR Rising Star of the Year. A panel of over 25 judges, all previous winners of the Person of the Year Award, determine the winners for each category. This year, #VUHRD's own faculty member, Keith Black, won HR Person of the Year for large companies for his work in the Philadelphia Media Network!

Keith received a B.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from Penn State University and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. Keith is currently Vice President of Human Resources for Philadelphia Media Network, owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News, and Philly.com. Previously, he practiced labor and employment law, and worked for the legal department of Zeneca Corporation (later AstraZeneca), serving as the dedicated legal representative for the human resources functions of the organization's three distinct business units. Keith is an adjunct faculty member for the HRD program, and teaches Employment Law.

Congratulations, Keith! We are so proud of your accomplishments in HR, and very proud to have you as a member of the #VUHRD team!
