Throwback Monday (We couldn't wait until Thursday!!) | VUHRDANR 2019 Pictures!!

The pictures from the 2019 VUHRD Annual Networking Reception are in and we could not wait until Thursday to share these. Thus, we are making #ThrowbackMonday a thing!! Thank you to everyone who attended and a giant thank you to our HR Rockstar for the night, Steve Browne!!

Our keynote speaker, or HR Rockstar, Steve Browne, author of HR on Purpose!!

The #VUHRDANR Volunteers!!

VUHRD faculty, staff and students networking during the reception!!

The networking portion of the evening was a huge success with students and our HR community making meaningful connections!!

Our VUHRD Student Emcees for the evening were Conor Kennedy and Courtney Yoke!!

Steve kept us all on our toes throughout his talk...

...especially when he brought out the tiny (creepy) hands!!

He also taught VUHRD student, Brittany Chapman, how to remember names when networking. (Hint: Find a way to use their name three times... Brittany, Brittany, Brittany!!)

The audience was in tears through most of Steve's talk. He is that funny!!

This year, we hosted a HR Graduate Case Competition and the winner was announced at the end of the reception!! Congrats to both of our finalist teams, Kendal Parliament and Joye Moore, from Wilmington University, and Conor Kennedy, Cadeem Harris and Saumya Manglik (not pictured), from Villanova University!!

The HR Graduate Case Competition Winners were Kendal Parliament and Joye Moore, pictured here with SHRM Field Director, Gloria Sinclair-Miller and SHRM DE State Council Director, Joanne Lee.

Steve stuck around to sign his book, HR on Purpose!!, for all the guests!! Here he is connecting with VUHRD student Luke Weis.

Steve posing for a picture with our VUHRD Partner Sponsor, Greater Valley Forge HRA, President-Elect, Deborah Kliman and Current President, Caitlin Cocchi.

Steve brought a collection of toys from his office in Cinncinati with him to Philadelphia. Some of our favorites are the tie-dye HR lion, the tiny (creepy) hands, and the cowbell!

Steve even gave away a special lava lamp, won by Jim Kane, to remind him (and all of us) to practice HR on Purpose!!

The 2019 #VUHRDANR was SO MUCH FUN!! If you missed it, check out the recording from Steve's talk here and we hope to see you at next year's event!! (P.S. if you are wondering why the double exclamation points in this post... read HR on Purpose!!)
