Villanova SHRM Student Chapter
The Villanova University SHRM Chapter is an active student group founded in 1985. This student organization is an affiliate of the Society of Human Resource Management.
VUSHRM is run by a Board of HRD graduate students who organize and coordinate interactive programming for students in the Human Resource Development graduate program and all VUSHRM members.
This student SHRM chapter has been awarded both the Outstanding Chapter Award and Superior Merit Award dozens of times since it was founded. Most recently, VUSHRM was one of only fifteen chapters that were awarded the Outstanding Merit Award for 2020-2021!
Throughout the year, VUSHRM plans networking opportunities, hosts workplace site visits, coordinates mentoring programs, holds professional development workshops and actively volunteers in the community.

Hello everyone, I'm Tiana! I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and have lived throughout the state for most of my life. After graduating from West Chester University with a degree in Psychology, I decided to pursue my Master's in Human Resources here at Villanova. Over the summer I completed an internship at Qurate Retail Group within their HR team as a Workforce Transformation Intern. Currently, I'm a second-year student and Graduate Assistant in the HRD program and I am looking forward soaking up the last of my classes and expanding my HR expertise!
Director of Chapter Operations | Ayushi Goyal
Hello everybody! My name is Ayushi Goyal. I am originally from India but grew up in Nepal. I did my Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a major in Finance. Currently, I am a second-year graduate student at Villanova and a Graduate Assistant in the HRD program. I am grateful to be a part of this program as it allowed me to explore the different facets of Human Resources. I intend to obtain the HR Business Partner Certificate through this program with a specialization in benefit and compensation to take advantage of my background in finance.
Director of Finance | Katia Rubanzana Umutoni
Hi everyone! My name is Katia, and I am from Kigali, Rwanda. I am a second-year graduate student and a Graduate Assistant in the HRD program. I graduated from Dickinson College with a Psychology major and Africana Studies minor. Before coming to Villanova for my master's, I worked in Rwanda for an HR consultancy firm on their talent acquisition team doing recruitment. During my work there I developed a passion for HR and grew an interest in how to successfully manage talent in line with an organization's goals. I love being a part of the HRD program and look forward to expanding my knowledge in HR.

My background is in talent acquisition and some marketing, where I interned with the YMCA and a small start-up company, but I am excited to explore the different avenues that HRD has to offer!
