Student Spotlight | Megan Peiffer | #VUHRDStory

"WOW" is the only word to express my excitement when I was accepted into SAP HR’s Early Talent Program. After a long interview process, I was now going to embark on a truly incredible journey. I was selected as 1 out of 10 early talents globally to enter a rotational program in different HR functional areas. This experience includes three rotations, two of which are four months and one 3-month international rotation.

My first rotation, which started April 1st, is supporting the Head of North America HR, Jewell Parkinson, and her PMO Andrew Behrle in the North America HRBP function. So far, I have had many opportunities to learn and add value to the HRBP function with the support of my manager, Andrew. He has given excellent direction, been a wonderful mentor thus far, and helped me set specific goals to achieve during my rotation. I look forward to the future growth, development, and exposure to the business I will gain through the duration of my HRBP role.

After working for a couple of weeks supporting the North America HRBP function, it was time for me to attend the HR Early Talent Rotational Program Kick-off week at SAP Headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. The other HR Early Talent from SAP’s Newtown Square location, Julianna Lee (also a Villanova graduate), and I traveled together. When we arrived in Germany, we decided to adjust to the time zone by exploring Heidelberg, Germany, which is a small town right outside of Walldorf. We met up with another US Early Talent based in Seattle for a day of immersing ourselves in the European culture. The Kick-off week then began with a dinner where we met the rest of the Early Talents based in Manila and Germany. The rest of the week consisted of workshops, learning sessions, and then dinners where we met colleagues based out of the headquarters location. The Kick-off week was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in another culture while simultaneously learning and creating lasting relationships.

My second and third rotations are not finalized yet. However, I am excitedly looking forward to adding value and learning through these experiences.
