Meet the '17-'18 #VUHRD Grad Assistants!

This post is all about introducing the 2017-2018 #VUHRD Graduate Assistants! We have three returning GAs from last year, and two new GAs we recently welcomed to the #VUHRD family! All of our Graduate Assistants also serve as VU SHRM officers. Get to know all of our GAs below, and be sure to say hi to them on campus or in the St. Mary's HRD office!

COURTNEY YOKE

Hi! My name is Courtney Yoke and I am a graduate assistant and student in the Human Resource Development Master's program. I recently graduated from Roanoke College with a B.S. in Psychology. There, I was a member of the Honors Program and a 4-year member of the Women's DIII Soccer Program. I took an interest to HR because I love the theories that drive human behavior and have a passion to see them in action, as well as to help advance the utility of those theories further! In my spare time, I like to hike with my dog, Harper, and explore new places!

CONOR KENNEDY

I am starting my first semester here at Villanova as a graduate assistant. I got my undergrad from Penn State with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business. Naturally, I found the appeal of an HRD program within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. Other than school, I gained HR experience while working at a family owned restaurant. I was able to create a training program and manage that process while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. In my free time I enjoy cooking, riding my motorcycle, and spending time outdoors. I am very excited to start my new position here, and being a member of the Villanova HRD team.

EMMA EDOGA

Hi! I’m Emma Edoga and I’m a second-year graduate assistant in the Human Resource Development (HRD) program. I graduated in May 2016 from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biology and a minor in Cinema Studies. I’m originally from Powder Springs, GA. My hobbies include reading, playing rugby, watching films and TV, and working out (kinda). I have a HUGE passion for television and film; my favorite films are The Social Network, Reservoir Dogs, and The Dark Knight, and my favorite TV shows are Insecure, Veep, Silicon Valley, and Atlanta. After graduating from Villanova, I will begin applying to PhD programs in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

HANNAH PARKER CARVER

I am an HRD student starting my second year in the program and planning to graduate in May 2018. My background is originally in animal science and anthropology, but after working as a veterinary technician for a few years I realized it was time to make a switch - and HR was calling me. I now work as a Graduate Assistant at Villanova and at IKEA Purchasing Services as a HR Generalist and I'm loving it! I look forward to my career ahead and to always learning and developing in the HR world.

MEGAN PEIFFER

I am a second year graduate assistant in the HRD Program! My passion for HR stems from my undergraduate double major in Managing Human Capital and Business Intelligence/Analytics, my co-op experience at a contract research organization, Theorem Clinical Research, and my internship at SAP on the HR Marketing and Enablement team. I am a co-president of VUSHRM and am very excited for my last year in the program.
