We are excited to start another academic year with Villanova HRD! This year marks the 43rd year of the Human Resource Development Program at Villanova University. Welcome back to our continuing students, our alumni and a big welcome to our newest students starting this week! Villanova Fall Development Series 2023
This series will be co-hosted by the Villanova HRD program and VUSHRM. Meet Your VUSHRM Board Members
We want to welcome everyone back to what will be another great year at Villanova! Fall seems to arrive quicker every year, but, despite the dwindling of beach days and (soon to be) cooler weather, we have some fun upcoming fall events for everyone to partake in! In this post, we will give a brief overview of HRD Fall programming and introduce the Villanova HRD Graduate Assistants and the VUSHRM Board. In the future, there will be plenty of blog posts with interesting stories, posts from different faculty and professors, updates on our podcast, HR Tea, and more! We are so excited for this year!

MARISA D'ERRICO | PRESIDENT
Hi y'all, my name is Marisa!
I am originally from Southern California but moved to Austin, Texas five years ago for undergrad. I graduated from Southwestern University with a Business major and a minor in Spanish. I am a second year Graduate Assistant in the HRD program. I am also looking forward to taking the SHRM-CP exam in December and receiving my Human Resources Business Partner certificate. Over the summer I interned with Sabre Systems, Inc. with their HR team as an HR intern. In this role, I dealt with Employee Relations issues, managed a project to create a new employee length of service gift program, and managed a project to create a virtual bulletin board for remote employees in different states. I am so excited to learn even more about HR in my last year.
AISLING MAGUIRE | DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Hey there! My name is Aisling and I'm from Columbus, OH. I'm currently a first year student and graduate assistant in the HRD program. I'm a Villanova alum from the Class of 2023 where I studied in Psychology. I'm so excited to learn more about the world of HR and build on my experiences so far! I look forward to joining in different parts of the graduate community and spending another year on Villanova's beautiful campus!
DIEP TRAN | DIRECTOR OF CHAPTER OPERATIONS
Hello everyone! I’m Diep Tran and I’m from Vietnam. I graduated from University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor in Business Administration (Management option) and a minor in Hospitality Management. Currently, I am a first-year graduate student at Villanova and a Graduate Assistant in the HRD program. Before coming to Villanova, I worked as a Training and Development specialist in the banking and hospitality industries. Through my work, I developed a strong interest in T&D and HR so I’m coming to Villanova with a great passion to learn more about different HR functions and aspects. I’m excited to build up my knowledge, experience, and network through the HRD program as well as VUSHRM.
MADDIE MCCLAY | DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Hi everyone, my name is Maddie! I’m from Exton, PA and I am currently a second-year graduate student and Graduate Assistant in the HRD program. I’m a proud 2023 Villanova alumn where I studied Psychology and Peace and Justice in my undergrad. I have a strong background in HR operations and talent acquisition but am looking forward to expanding my scope of HR through my masters’ classes and office experience! I am excited to be rejoining the Villanova community through the HRD program and am eager to grow into this new position!
TYRA JOHNSON | DIRECT OF MEMBERSHIP ENGAGEMENT
Hey, I'm Tyra! I am from Peoria, Illinois. I received my B.A in Human resource management and Communication rhetorical studies from Illinois College. I am currently a Graduate Assistant in the HRD program, pursuing my MS and certification in Inclusion & Diversity Strategy. I am excited to be part of the team and help anyone, so feel free to reach out.
