WELCOME TO THE NEW #VUHRD CORNER BLOG!
Villanova HRD is proud to announce our new corner blog site--www.VillanovaHRD.com! We will officially be live here starting October 1, 2016. The new blog will feature HR news & hot topics, #VUHRD Program event information, as well as research highlights from our faculty, and more! In our new blog we will share with you our opinions on relevant human resource news, and we will keep you up to date on the exciting research happening here at Villanova that is certain to shape the future of HR.
Our new blog comes during an exciting time for our program. With a new Director, Dr. Gerry Brandon, a new tenure-track faculty member, Dr. Christian Thoroughgood, and many exciting developments in course offerings, the program is poised to lead HR students into the future of business. (Check out all the future HR leaders pictured here during the HRD New Student Orientation in Fall 2016!)
Over the last year, we have taken a fresh look at the courses offered in the HRD program. Expect to see new one-credit offerings over the next year that will highlight current trends in the field.
All of the courses in the HRD program are certified through both SHRM and HRCI for recertification credits. For HR professionals with certifications, our courses are excellent opportunities for professional development that can later be applied to a degree or certificate in the program. Courses like "Diversity in a Global Economy" taught by Dr. Katina Sawyer will give HR professionals and students exposure to real-world issues that are shaping our businesses today. Topics from this course and other new offerings will be highlighted here on the blog!
The new blog will also provide an easy way to stay up to date on program news and events. Check out the HRD Events page for all the upcoming events hosted by the program.
